“Father to Son”
This jacket was the jacket that he wore during his first injury in Vietnam in the Ia Drang Valley. He was shot through the stomach. The jacket pinned beside it belonged to his son, then-Lieutenant James Browning, who also received an injury to the chest from a 170 millimeter Katyusha rocket. He wanted to celebrate him and his son by pinning the two jackets together as their first Purple Hearts received.
